Potty training- How I trained my 8 months old

Image
Potty training is one of the toughest things to do. But trust me this is the best thing to teach your little one. When should I start potty training my baby? This is the most common question that crosses our mind often. There is no right or wrong age for potty training. You can start potty training as soon as your baby is able to sit on his own. I started off when my baby was around 8 months old. I was keeping him diaper free most of the times and would ask him to tell Mumma if he wants to poop. People might think I was overdoing it (asking an 8-month-old to tell me before pooping) but it was all worth it. He was unable to speak but eventually learned to give signs if he wanted to poop. How should I start? Start by observing your baby’s expressions whenever they poop. Randomly ask your baby (throughout the day) to tell you whenever they want to poop. Some people suggest putting your baby right on the pot as soon as they wake up. I didn’t use this approach as there is no f...

Ultimate guide to new-born essentials

New-born essentials are the very and only basics that your baby needs. Becoming parents for the first time can be overwhelming. Taking care of yourself, your partner and along with that making sure that you have everything that the baby MIGHT need. And with all the suggestions in the ever-evolving world of social media, it becomes even more confusing. I know that feeling. During my pregnancy I’ve watched numerous videos and made a consolidated list of essentials for my new-born. Sharing the same with you here. 1.       Baby diapers or cotton langotis : New-born babies pee around 8-10 times a day, on an average. Also, their skin is super soft and sensitive. Invest in a good baby diaper that is super absorbent and soft (on baby’s skin) at the same time. Go for the diapers which have a wetness indicator. So, you don’t have to keep checking the diaper. You can also opt for cotton langotis if you don’t want to use diapers. But make sure to check the langot...

The ultimate checklist for hospital bag essentials

Ready for your big day? Have you packed your hospital bag yet? This is the question you will start hearing once your delivery date approaches. As and when the day arrives the excitement takes over. And you are so overwhelmed at times, that you forget to prepare the essentials for the big day. Yes, I am talking about the hospital bag essentials. We will get into the details soon but first let us start off with some basics. When should you start packing your hospital bag? It is better to start packing your hospital bag (or bags) by the end of eighth month. I would suggest carrying the hospital bag with you during your physical examinations too. Because sometimes you might go into labour during one of those sessions. It is better to be prepared and to avoid last minute panics. I have had two physical examinations done before my delivery. And every time I headed out for my appointment, I thought I might come back home with my baby :) Keeping your hospital bag ready in advance can h...
